New Yamaha MT-01 SP
If "torque monsters" are your thing, Yamaha are launching a limited special edition of their MT-01, entitled not unsurprisingly the MT-01 SP, with its massive 1,670 cc, 4-stroke, 48 degree V-Twin engine.
The SP designation does add a lot of extras. These include Ohlins front and rear suspension, Pirelli Diablo Rossi tyres, fatter tapered handlebars and machined aluminium handlebar crown, special colour scheme, plus a protective nano-film coating on the bare-metal finish exhaust, and the use of additional chrome plating on selected engine and chassis components.
However notwithstanding all the physical extras I think the new colour scheme is the real eyecatcher! A red and white fuel tank is complemented by a red front fender and red chrome MT logo on the tank. A new two-tone seat and gold wheels underline the exclusivity of this attractive new SP model.
Now where's my cheque book?
Ride safe.
